Notes for 2 point:
How to draw cubes in 2 point perspective:
How to draw a city in 2 point perspective:
Remember the rules for 2 point perspective. There are only vertical and diagonal (receding) lines.
TIPS:
-DRAW LIGHTLY!!!
-While watching the video pay attention to where I place my ruler and how I line it up to the vanishing points.
-When drawing buildings, start with the corner (vertical line) closest to you.
-Sides of buildings, windows and doors will always be a vertical line.
-The top of windows and doors will line up to the vanishing point of the side of the building it is on. (Example: if your
door/window is on the left half of the building it will line up to the left vanishing point.)
-Street lights, trees, and signs are drawn similar to how they are drawn in 1-point perspective. Draw the guiding lines
first. Keep vertical lines vertical. Everything else lines up to one of the vanishing points.

You don't necessarily have do a theme park, you can draw a neighborhood, your dream house, countryside, futuristic city in space...BE CREATIVE!!
Which ever perspective you choose you should have at least 12 buildings or structures in accurate 1 or 2 point perspective. Follow the criteria below.
You will be graded on Creativity, Craftsmanship (neatness) and Composition (fill the page and include all criteria).

1-Point Perspective (street/side view):
-at least 8 buildings on the street view -4 to 6 instances where buildings overlap, put buildings behind. (12-14 buildings total) -street or roads and/or pavement (sidewalk) -other details like trees, cars, garbage cans, planters, mailboxes, street signs, fences, lights etc. AT LEAST 5 different details represented!!! -details on all buildings like windows, doors, signs etc. -add values (shading)to all the objects/buildings you draw -Don’t forget texture is a way to add value also. |
2-Point Perspective Requirements:
-8 buildings in different 2 point perspectives (above horizon line and below) from street view -Show 4 to 6 instances of overlapping buildings, behind the other buildings (12-14 buildings total) -Add at least 5 different components such as signs, stop lights, trees, garbage cans, planters, balconies, benches, mailboxes, etc., in accurate two-point perspective -Draw to the edge of the paper on all sides. -Shade with pencil (add values and texture). -Don’t forget texture is a way to add value also. |
